OSMTJ INTERNATIONAL accept, as Regular Templar Order, the model of the initial order of monks that formed the basis of The Order, who lived according to the model of the Cistercians and the teachings of St. Benedict, and endeavor to strictly apply and adhere to the “Holy Rule and Constitutions” as drawn up and prescribed by Grand Master Bertrand de Blanquefort in 1156.
OSMTJ INTERNATIONAL, as authentic and official Templar Body, we subscribe to the common Knowledge of FREEMASONRY in general and of the “THE ANCIENT AND ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE OF FREEMASONRY“ (AASR), and “THE YORK RITE” in particular.
As a result, we also share common Knowledge, and, as a result, we often call upon the mystical, esoteric and spiritual Knowledge and Skills found in, among others: “THE SOCIETY OF SION” (Prieuré de Sion), “THE PRIORY OF THE GRAIL“, “THE ROSICRUCIANS”, “WICCA” & “SJAMANISM“, etc, …
“Masonic Templars” are on the one hand: The Masonic Grand Lodges & Lodges and on the other hand The Knights Templar Grand Priories & Priories who fully acknowledge: to have the Temple Order as ‘foundation’ and to incorporate it into the constitution hereby sharing in practice the time-honored handed down ‘Temple & Masonic Knowledge’, to observe the historical Temple Principles & to apply the handed down Rituals.
The Order, in its special capacity of “Strict Observance”, is already part of the Masonic Temple Community from time immemorial and by virtue of its office.
The Order, as “Strictea Observantiae” is,
one and indivisible,
both Templars and Masons.
The Order, in its specific Masonic capacity, obtains its Legitimacy through, and works under the authority and obedience of:
- “The Grand Orient of The International Grand Lodge of Masonic Templars” (MTI) (G:.O:.I:.G:.L:.M:.T:.),
- “The International Rite of Masonic Templars” (I:.R:.M:.T:.),
- “The International Grand Lodge of Masonic Templars” (G.L.M.T.),
- “The Grande Oriente Internacional Federal Maçonaria Portuguesa” (G.O.I.F.),
- “The Grand Orient Ordem Mista Maçonica de Portugal (OMM) – “Le Droit Humain”,
- “The Gran Oriente Gran Logia Estado Xalisco – Rito Nacional Mexicano (G.L.E.X.)
Our Grand Priories operate under the masonic designation of:
THE ORDER OF THE TEMPLE OF SALOMON (OTS)
Also known as:
THE MASONIC & MYSTIC TEMPLE OF SALOMON (MTI)
The International Masonic Leadership of The Order rests in the hands of:
THE GRAND ORIENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL GRAND LODGE OF MASONIC TEMPLARS

whose dignitaries are also members of:
“THE GRAND MAGISTERIAL COUNCIL OF OSMTJ-INTERNATIONAL”- ‘GMC”
These two overarching international governing bodies operate under the name of:
“THE MAGISTERIUM”,
and work under the general direction of the
“GRAND MASTER MAGISTER SUPREMUS”,
who is also “Sovereign Chief Inspector General” (°33).
Our Grand Priories can independently decide how to organize themselves. They can autonomously decide to be both a Templar and Masonic organization or be exclusively a Templar or exclusively a Masonic Order.
The Order, as a regular Temple community, subscribes to the overall principles of Freemasonry, is a sharer of the common Masonic Knowledge and Doctrine as already laid down in the ‘Charter of Sir Andrew Michael Ramsey – Grand Inspector Commander (°30) – Grand Lodge of Scotland (1736) and: Baron Karl Gotthelf von Hund – Sovereign Grand Inspector General (°33) – Magnus Supérior de la Stricte Observance Templière (1751) and recognizes the 33 Degree structure whereby in progressive line the Degrees awarded are awarded according to the increased “Knowledge” & “Wisdom”.
Note: not all Masons are Templars, and not all Templars are Masons…
